An initiative of the Community Development Department (CDD) for the City of Los Angeles, the Hire LA news team is comprised of inner-city youth who act in a journalistic capacity, documenting the Hire LA Program.
Our goal is to gather evidence of the student workers in the Hire LA Program and create a multimedia presentation that highlights the human aspect of their stories.
In this effort, we will connect with city government officials, community-based organizations and the student workers themselves throughout Los Angeles.
Through our project, we hope to empower the youth who are not familiar with Hire LA to take advantage of the resources available to them.
